Elea is the ancient Greek & Roman settlement (6th cent. B.C.) located in the Cilento National Park, a protected natural reserve with some of the most pristine beaches in Italy. Some of the greatest philosophers came for the Cilento. It adjoins both the Amalfi coast and Calabria, offering unequal access to Amalfi, Sorrento, Naples, Salerno, Pompeii as well as Sicily in the south.
